Regular price €18,00by Kartelluni
When one reminisces about the golden age of the entertainment scene in Malta, it’s hard not to think of Strait Street in Valletta; where its past vibrant spirit still dwells in the memories of those who lived through the heyday of this mysterious and eccentric place.
Infamously known as ‘The Gut’, this colourful alley was the hotspot for music halls, cabaret, theatre and live jazz music, attracting mostly military servicemen who crowded the streets of Valletta. It was a multicultural scene where Maltese socialised with the British, Americans and Italians - an escape from reality during the war era.
Illustrated by Nicole Sciberras Debono , Art Direction Janice Mercieca.
