il-lokal is an online platform that tells the stories and sells the products of creative individuals whose hard work and great passion make Malta a more colourful place. We do it because we believe in supporting creative initiatives and want everyone to see the value they add to our community.

il-lokal connects Malta’s community of art and design product sellers with potential buyers and facilitates the purchasing process of the products featured on the platform. 

We act as a point of contact for both parties allowing sellers to focus on their creative work and buyers to browse through a wide selection of locally made products on a single platform.

If you’d like to ask a question about a particular product or seller the easiest way is to use the Ask a Question tab featured on each product page.

If you’d like to purchase a product that has a personalization option available, you will be asked to submit your specific requirements during the checkout process in the section Comments to the order.

You can complete your order by choosing either the PayPal or credit card payment option during your checkout process.

If you’d like your order to be delivered to an address different than yours, fill in the desired recipient address in the Delivery Address section upon checkout.

We’re currently working on implementing Gift Cards to our platform. If you’d like to receive a notification once the Gift Card option is available, sign-up to our Newsletter.

Most of the products available on il-lokal will be sent to you within 1 - 3 working days. Since we host products from different sellers and we understand that each creative practice is different, we also feature products with a longer fulfilment time. 

The information about product-specific fulfilment time can be found on every product page under the tab Order Fulfilment.

Your order will be sent to your delivery address directly by the seller. If your order includes products from different sellers you’ll receive a tracking number for each product and a parcel will be sent to you by each seller separately. Please note that order fulfilment times might vary from product to product.

Yes, we ship orders to all EU countries, USA, Canada, Australia and most Asian countries. The shipping fee to your destination will be calculated automatically upon checkout based on the weight of your order and your location.  

We like to keep things local. We use MaltaPost as a postage service for orders from Malta-based sellers and country-specific postage providers for orders from Maltese sellers based abroad.

If you’d like to check the delivery status of your order we recommend using 17TRACK or MaltaPost Tracking System. If you are experiencing difficulties or feel that your parcel is taking longer than expected to be delivered, feel free to contact us on and we’ll help you sort things out.

If your parcel was lost by the postage service or delivered damaged follow the steps on il-lokal’s Delivery & Returns page.

You can exchange purchased products for a different product or products from the same seller, with the exception of custom-made or one-of-a-kind products. In order to exchange a product follow the steps on il-lokal’s Delivery & Returns page.

If the product exchange is not satisfactory, you can return the purchased product and receive a refund. In order to request a return, follow the steps on il-lokal’s Delivery & Returns page.
