"My body of work predominantly focuses on wearable art and performance, within the scope of Drag. My approach and ethos can be described as 'art for art's sake', allowing the absurdist qualities of my work to generate nuance. The artworks featured in The Big Gay Art Show aim to grant an audience ownership of my own 'reliquaries' - framed performance remains."
About the Artist
'KLONN' is the alias/drag persona of multimedia artist Gabriel Chetcuti (he/they). Born and based in Malta, and with a focus on wearable art, their work deals with themes including mythology, kitsch, and decoration - all wrapped into an archetypical fool.
About the auction
- This artwork is part of The Big Gay Art Show, a collective exhibition celebrating queer Maltese and Malta-based artists, displayed at Cafe Society in Valletta between the 7th and 30th of September 2023
- All proceeds from the auction go to the Artist
