01.04.23 is part of a larger collection representing Noura's solo performance as part of the interactive multidisciplinary performance OUTCAST created for the Europride Valletta 2023 featuring Chakib Zidi, Dali Aguerbi, Shayma Al Queer and Mohamed Issaoui.
During every run of OUTCAST, with no pre-set design or sketches, and just a blank paper, Noura would become fully immersed in the moment to draw the show live while being live-screened during the show. Every drawing is inspired by the creation process, the characters and their stories, the energy of each presentation and more still unknown factors.
It illustrates the process of deconstruction of the social barriers and the subsequent reconstruction of individual and collective identities. The result is yet another outcast character with a complex aesthetical and inner identity, one among others.
Noura was born and raised in Tunis and has been based in Malta since 2017. Graduating in Architecture in 2016, at the Ecole Nationale d'Architecture et d’Urbanisme, Tunis (Tunisia), Noura is an architect and multidisciplinary designer with a special interest for interiors and exhibition space design. She is also an independent illustrator actively interested in the role of art in articulating social changes and guaranteeing justice and human rights.
